Inverness Club Board of Governors

Important Update | March 18, 2020

Effective Until Further Notice

Dear Inverness Club Member,

The Inverness Board of Governors has an obligation to comply with regulations from the State of Ohio and recommendations from the CDC and other health organizations concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.  Further, we have a moral obligation to take steps necessary to protect the health and safety of our staff and members.  To be in compliance with social distancing guidelines as they exist today, the following measures are being implemented effective immediately:

Club Facilities
  • The entire clubhouse will be CLOSED, including the Fitness Center, meeting rooms and all dining facilities.
  • Members who need to access their lockers may do so between now and Friday March 20; after that time, access to the clubhouse will need to be pre-arranged.
  • The golf course and practice areas will be OPEN, although shorter hours are being planned.
  • NO guest play will be permitted.
  • Players may walk or take carts (cart logistics, including the option of permitting one person per cart, are being considered); NO caddies will be permitted.
  • Limited service at the 10th tee turn window and/or the halfway house may be available on certain dates and certain times TBD.
  • The Golf Shop and Bag Room will have a minimal staffing.
  • Tennis courts are OPEN; NO guests or outside play is permitted.
  • The Tennis Shop is CLOSED.
  • Paddle tennis courts are OPEN; NO guests or outside play is permitted.
  • The Paddle Hut is CLOSED.
  • All Guest Houses are CLOSED.
Safety Precautions
  • Staff has been instructed not to be on the premises if they or someone in their household have a cough, fever, runny nose or other flu-like symptoms.  They should stay at home and not risk exposing others to illness.  Members should follow these same guidelines.
  • Members are asked to practice social distancing while at the club, and refrain from physical contact and shaking hands with staff or other members.
  • We will continue with the increased frequency of disinfecting areas of high contact, such as door knobs, light switches and handrails.  Golf carts will be disinfected between use.
While these measures poses hardships for our members and our employees, we believe they are necessary and prudent.  As this situation continues to evolve, you can expect regular updates from us.

We are all anxious for the return to some form of normalcy, but are not able to predict exactly when that may be.  The restrictions above will certainly be in place for at least the next few weeks.  We will reopen areas of the club when it is safe to do so and in compliance with the State of Ohio.

If you have any specific questions, please contact our General Manager, Fernando Fry, or any of member of the Board of Governors.

Thank You,
Inverness Club Board of Govenors
